Media Maelstrom, Or Short Reviews Of Many Things

There are times in which I like to create media, and there are times in which I like to consume media. A particularly cold winter provided me the perfect backdrop for consumption, and i’d like to share my thoughts on those things. AS opposed to my usual breathy and in-depth expose on the things I have been up to, I’ve decided to distill my opinions to mere sentences in an effort to say a lot in a little amount of time. Click the video below to hear my thoughts about the books and films that have populated my mind this winter.

Going “Up North” Again

For a birthday retreat, my wife and I were given permission to stay at a family members cabin in the north Michigan woods, a common occurrence for those of the mid-west. However, what made this journey something unique and special was the fact that my wife had not been to this cabin, one she had spent a great deal of time at during her youth, for over 14 years. Marinating on the impart of those years gone by I began to wonder, would her cherished memories line up with the reality of the present day? In other words, can one go “up north” again. Thorn at Our Side – A Story of Adoption, Pt. 3

In this final installment, watch as we make another trek to Bellwether Harbor to BRING THORN HOME FOREVER!

Before the video, I’d like to acknowledge the staff at Bellwether Harbor once more. The way in which these extraordinary people care for animals inspired us, and im sure, will continue to inspire countless others to better understand and deepen the human animal bond. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You!

The amazing staff of Bellwether!

Now, our new boy moves as quickly and erratically as a swift river so I present to you what footage I can. Welcome home, Thorn!

After a long hard day of car rides, walks, playing ball and sniffing, Mom and Thorn couldn’t handle another moment awake. We love him more than there are words with which to articulate it!

Thorn and his Mommy sleep better for having one another.

You may imagine that Thorn will now become a very regular part of this blog, and you’d be right! Watch for more stories, photos, and videos of our boy as he settles in to his new home. Thank you for sharing in our journey!

Thorn at Our Side – A Story of Adoption, Pt. 2

Part 2 of the tale of Thorn becoming a part of our family delves deeply into how amazed Amanda and I were by the facility, people, care, and attention provided to the animals at the Bellwether Harbor animal shelter. The people who work at, and volunteer for, this shelter are indescribably wonderful with animals, and people, and I knew that even if things hadn’t worked out with Thorn, that I would spread the word about their efforts. Click the video to hear more about our extraordinary experience at the shelter.(please forgive the random slide structure)

Part 3 of the story will be released on Monday.

The Monthly Malt – Highland Park 12 Year

This month, our panel of seasoned and amateur tasters tackles the Highland Park 12 Year, an island Scotch that they themselves describe as “Rich with well balanced malt and s subtle floral smokey aroma”.

Again, the primary function of this series is to showcase that there is no prescribed professional vocabulary that must be used to describe things(beverages in this case). Listen to their thoughts by clicking below.

Highland Park 12 year is currently available for $49.96 in Michigan.
